I’ve been creating HDR images when the subject makes sense for it and churches, synagogues and other houses of worship tend to be ideal for this type of photography. I’ll be adding more to this post as I shoot them.
These images were shot on Christmas Day and the following days after. A family “tradition” on Christmas Day is to wake up early and walk down to see the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree and view the dept. store windows with their Christmas displays along the way. Then after walking back uptown, we go to our [...]
On Saturday, October 13, 2012 nearly 32,000 photographers gathered in over 1,300 cities worldwide for the 5th annual Scott Kelby Worldwide Photowalk. Photographers of all levels went out on photowalks in various cities looking for interesting images to capture with their cameras, iPhones or other smartphones. You know that summer is here in NYC when Manhattan empties out on Friday evening with the rush of people to the Hamptons and the Jersey Shore–and The Coney Island Mermaid Parade swims down Surf Avenue in–where else?–Coney Island. It was a picture-perfect flight with shuttle piggy-backing for the ride on top of a modified 747. While The Enterprise was actually the test vehicle for the shuttle program and never went into space, NYC [...]
The Tartan Day Parade in NYC is always colorful and fun to watch. There’s a relatively low-key crowd and bagpipe music to listen to and enjoy on a beautiful day. Because of its relatively smaller size compared to other parades, it’s also easier find good spots for photographing the parade. One tradition found at this [...]
The Easter Parade on NYC’s Fifth Avenue offers great photographic opportunities. From stylish bonnets to homemade chapeaus, to some over-the-top get-ups there’s a lot of great images to capture. Actually, it’s not so much of a parade as it’s more of a free-for-all promenade between 49th and 57th Streets on Fifth Ave. Here are several [...]
